The Cityzens have won the league three times in the last five seasons with Chelsea and Liverpool both winning once. Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola is known to be a serial winner wherever he goes ( Barcelona, Bayern Munich) while Jurgen Klopp has always played second to whichever team is dominating the league.

The most competitive season between both clubs was the 2018/19 season where Manchester City won by a single point with 98 points while Liverpool finished second with 97 points.

Title Race

There are at least nine games to the end of the season and it looks like football fans will be having another photo finish when the season ends in May 2022. Manchester City’s quest for winning the title suffered a setback in their game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park where they were held to a goalless draw.

Guardiola’s men are just one point ahead of Klopp’s men following a 2-0 win for Liverpool against Arsenal with goals from Diogo Jota and Bobby Firmino.

The win means football fans will most likely have a photo finish towards the end of the season.

Liverpool’s next game is against Watford while Manchester City play against Burnley.

Title Decider

The game which will be played at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, April 10th, 2022 between both teams will most likely decide who wins the league. The first which ended 2-2 at Anfield will go down as one of the best games of the season. Most football pundits believe that the winner of the game will go on to win the league.

Wild Card

Manchester City and Liverpool are favourites to win the league according to bookmakers but there is a little matter of Chelsea. The Blues were initially part of the title race at the start of the league but fell off because of a run of bad form which was suffered in December. However, Chelsea might have a chance at winning the title if they can keep their current form and hope City and Liverpool drop points in at least four matches each.
