Tiwa Savage & Reekado Banks, Two Biggest Acts Mavin Ever Had

Apparently, Tiwa Savage‘s 7 years at Mavin Records has been more than fruitful. Her rise to stardom above her senior brothers in the label, Dr. Sid, D’Prince and others is highly commendable.
With 3 EPs and 5 albums, Tiwa Savage grew to become the most celebrated female artiste in Nigeria under Mavin imprint. Her efforts alone have placed Mavin Records on the map across Africa and the world at large.
After Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks was the next major hitmaker at Mavin Records. He had scores of hit songs with the label.
His exit from Mavin Records December last year seemed to come earlier than expected but with Tiwa Savage still in the label at that time, Reeky’s exit did not really count.

What Is Left For Mavin Records Now

With Tiwa Savage and Reekado Banks exit from Mavin Records, the label is left with Johnny Drille, Korede Bello, Dija, DNA Twins, Ladipoe and the new kid, Rema.
While all of these acts have not risen to A list or superstar status even after spending two years at the label, the new kid on the block, Rema could be Don Jazzy‘s new plan to sustain the record label’s glory.
Rema‘s entry into Mavin Records generated lots of comments from music lovers home and abroad with many doubting the singer’s ability to succeed within Nigeria’s music space.
His song Dumebi which had some element of Wizkid‘s vibe seems to confirm the claims that Rema can have a big break in Nigeria and blow internationally.
The question still remains
